When is More Good For Less?
I have never been a big breakfast eater, and I mean never. However, I do find that the right sort of good breakfast can help me lose weight, almost without effort. Does this sound too good to be true? Maybe it does, but I stand firm by this and have a lot of backup from friends and family who have been successful with weight loss.
Soluble Fiber helps lower blood cholesterol levels and control blood glucose levels. Examples of soluble fiber are Oatbran, barley, kidney beans, fruits, and vegetables.
Insoluble fiber remains virtually intact while passing through the body which causes the feeling of fullness, and provides less calories to the body. Some examples of insoluble fiber are: Wheat bran, vegetables and whole grains.
High-fiber foods also contain a considerable amount of antioxidants and phytochemicals, which are an advantage in any diet.
So how do we start our day of right with a good dose of fiber that will keep us feeling full, provide essential nutrients, keep our body clean, and actually help us lose weight?
Easy Diet Breakfast:
High Fiber Cereal with Skim Milk PLUS sliced up fruit. I like Original Fiber One Cereal because it has an incredible 14 grams of fiber. It has only 1 gram of soluble fiber though, and that’s where the fruit comes in. The skim milk provides protein, calcium, and vitamin D too. I usually give myself an amount equal to TWO servings of this breakfast because these are the types of foods I may not have access to in the rest of my day outside my home. But the two servings makes me feel very full and satisfied, and I am not starving by lunch.
Easy Diet Smoothie:
This one is a little tougher because you have to mix everything up in a blender, and then of course, the blender has to be cleaned out at some point.
