The Beating Of Your Heart – Songs for women aged 40 to 60

I
am a fifty five year old woman who has worked as a corporate photographer for
over thirty years. After my husband died of cancer in 2007, I decided to create
a music project, combining my singing and production ideas with my visual
ideas. After two and a half years,
the result is a CD of stunning songs and music for my own generation.

I
had carefully studied the market for women in this age range and carefully
storyboarded the concepts for the songs. I went out to find a producer/writer,
to work with me and for me, so that I could realize my vision. I found all the
brilliance and experience I needed in Richard Newman. Together we wrote some of
the best songs to be heard for a very long time.

Even
in our times, the music industry is still deciding what women are allowed to
hear. As for older women, they have been written off already as any kind of
potential market. However, the facts contradict this attitude and when Enya and
Susan Boyle emerged, women bought their music in millions. There has not been
music produced for the 40 to 60 year old age group before now.

I
feel that there are a large number of women who would be interested in what I
have to say. I would like to share my music with you, and ask you to help me,
by publicizing what I have done.

The
songs are about relationships, love, loss, the symbolism of wedding dresses,
questioning what might have happened if the captain of the ship had been a
woman, and the albatross had not been killed, and a song about Boudica, the
words of which, at the moment, seem relevant in the light of the current
banking crisis!

I am not sending out Cds at random, but if you are interested in my
story, please contact me and I will happily supply relevant information and the
music.

Well, I try to make exercise fun when I can. Remember when you were younger, a a pickup game of frizbee or soft ball did not seem like exercise hour - it seemed like fun! If I am going to be honest, I will admit for me - it is tougher to do that these days.

Hi Everyone,

I'm new this forum, and looking to add some "spice" to a few Boomer's lives. I have a passion for writing "spicy" articles for the Boomer generation. The articles touch on the fiesty side of 50, that's right … sexuality and romance in midlife!

It's astonishing how many Boomers are discovering, they are never too old to learn something new!

http://www.babyboomers-lifes-p.....asures.com is all about rediscovery.

Wow, I just had lunch yesterday with some people who are really into this tea party nonsense. I think they are good and thoughtful people, but they really are full of of mis-statements and outright craziness. Whever I listen to Sarah Palin, I thank GOD and American for SNL.

Some of the tidbits. This is what they said, that started my head exploding.

The militia, whatever that is, will march on tea parties because they are not allowed freedom of speech.

In my opinion, those crazies - out for their 5 minutes of fame or whatever - have had plenty of time to air their garbage. But of course, their right to be silly is protected.

President Obama is a secret Muslim and of course, was raised by Muslims in Muslim-land.

Ah, I think ithas been well proven he was born in Hawaii. It seems like most of the time he was raised by grandparents from Kansas, who were upper middle class white Protestants.

Ah, a bunch of other mush brained silliness that was almost too painful to listen to.

Really, with all we have to do, sandwiched between our kids and parents, plus trying to stay healthy and fit - do we really have time to have fun unless we can make what we have to do fun?

haha...sorrry for the very long phrase up there.

I am not one of those people who needs to stay busy all the time for any sort of self-fulfillment. I just seem to stay busy all the time trying to keep up.

We know that baby boomers do not like a lot of rules. We are not really interesteted in enforcing a lot of them either.

1. Please keep this forum friendly and family friendly. While we are open to discussing mature topics, please consider your language. We reserve the final judgement on what passes as legitimate discussion. This also means that we do not tolerate any sort of hate speech or attacks.

2. We have no problem with our members dropping a link or two into their posts, but they have to be in the context of the discussion thread. We also allow you to have a signature line so you can show off your own online projects.

But please respect our efforts, and keep the SPAM noise down. This really benefits all of us. Our members are smart people, and they know the difference between a poster who offers a resource, and one who is only interested in drive-by spamming. So do we.
